2 University of Central Queensland (Admission and Enrolment) No. 112, 1993 ˙ Short title 1. This Statute may be cited as the University of Central Queensland (Admission and Enrolment) Statute 1993 . ˙ Admission in accordance with rules 2. The University may admit persons as students, or limit the admission of persons as students, for any course of study or program, in a way prescribed by the rules. ˙ Enrolled students 3.(1) A person selected for admission becomes an enrolled student on completion of the enrolment procedures prescribed by the rules and compliance with section 4 or 5. (2) A person stops being an enrolled student in a way prescribed by the rules. ˙ Membership of Student Association 4.(1) A person selected for admission and seeking enrolment as a student must be, or undertake to become, a member of the Student Association. (2) The person becomes a member of the Student Association by paying the Student Association’s membership fees. ˙ Exemption from membership of Student Association 5.(1) Despite section 4, a person is exempt from membership of the Student Association if the person— (a) has a conscientious objection to being a member of the Association; and (b) gives the Registrar a written declaration of the nature of the person’s conscientious objection; and (c) notifies the Association that the person has given the Registrar a written declaration mentioned in paragraph (b); and
3 University of Central Queensland (Admission and Enrolment) No. 112, 1993 (d) pays to the University the amount of the Student Association’s membership fees. (2) Amounts paid to the University under subsection (1) are to be applied, in a way determined by the Registrar, to the provision of services, facilities and amenities for enrolled students. ˙˙ Administration 6. Subject to this Statute, the rules and any resolutions of the Council, the Registrar is responsible for the administration of all matters relating to the admission and enrolment of students. ˙ Rules 7. The Council may make rules— (a) limiting the admission of persons as students in a course or program of study; and (b) in relation to enrolment procedures; and (c) prescribing the circumstances in which a person stops being an enrolled student.
