I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, AC., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in

pursuance of section 2 of the University Legislation (Amendment) Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 10 June 1994 as the day on which the following provisions of Schedule 1 to that Act commence:

Amendments relating to the Charles Sturt University Act 1989:

• item (1)

• so much of item (5) as inserts the heading to Part 3 of Schedule 4 to that Act and clause 31 of that Schedule

Amendments relating to the Macquarie University Act 1989:

• item (1)

• so much of item (5) as inserts clause 9 of Schedule 3 to that Act

Amendments relating to the Southern Cross University Act 1993:

• item (1)

• so much of item (5) as inserts the heading to Part 6 of Schedule 3 to that Act and clause 29 of that Schedule

Amendments relating to the University of New England Act 1993:

• item (1)

• so much of item (5) as inserts the heading to Part 6 of Schedule 3

to that Act and clause 33 of that Schedule

Amendments relating to the University of New South Wales Act 1989:

• item (1)

• so much of item (5) as inserts clause 8 of Schedule 3 to that Act

• so much of item (5) as inserts clause 10 of Schedule 3 to that Act

Amendments relating to the University of Wollongong Act 1989:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the University

Legislation (Amendment) Act 1994 relating to the abolition of functions, other than ceremonial functions, of visitors of certain universities.
