Universities (Financial Assistance)

An Act to amend the Universities (Financial Assistance) Act 1963-1964.

[Assented to 3 June, 1965]

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Universities (Financial Assistance) Act 1965.

(2.) The Universities (Financial Assistance) Act 1963-1964 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Universities (Financial Assistance) Act 1963-1965.

Commencement.

2.—(1.) This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

(2.) The amendment made by section 3 of this Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the twenty-fourth day of November, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-four.

(3.) The Schedules inserted by section 4 of this Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of January, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-four.

Salary rates.

3. Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words “the year One thousand nine hundred and sixty-four”(wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the words “a year to which this Act applies”.

Schedules.

4. The Schedules to the Principal Act are repealed and the following Schedules inserted in their stead:—
