REGULATIONS UNDER THE EDUCATION ACT 1945 *

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Education Act 1945.

Amendments of the Universities Commission (Financial Assistance) Regulations.

Second Schedule.

1. Paragraph 2 of the Second Schedule to the Universities Commission (Financial Assistance) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-paragraph (b)of that paragraph the words “One hundred and four pounds” and inserting in their stead the words “One hundred and seventeen pounds”; and

(b)by omitting from that sub-paragraph the words “One hundred and forty-three pounds” and inserting in their stead the words “One hundred and fifty-six pounds”.

Financial assistance in the year 1947.

2. Notwithstanding the amendments made by the last preceding regulation, for the purpose of determining the maximum financial assistance which may be granted to a student in the year 1947 under the Universities Commission (Financial Assistance) Regulations, the amounts specified in sub-paragraph (b)of paragraph 2 of the Second Schedule to those Regulations shall be deemed to be One hundred and ten pounds and ten shillings and One hundred and forty-nine pounds and ten shillings respectively.
