Universities Commission (Financial Assistance) Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE EDUCATION ACT 1945.*
I,
THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the

Amendments of the Universities Commission (Financial Assistance) Regulations.
(
a ) by inserting in paragraph (a ), after the word “ Arts,” the word “ Education,”; and(
b ) by omitting paragraph (c ) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph :—“ (
c ) Students enrolled in approved institutions in the courses of—Dentistry,
Engineering (at standards approved by the Commission),
Science (at standards approved by the Commission),
Architecture (at standards approved by the Commission),
Building (at standards approved by the Commission), and
Almonry.”.

a ) by omitting from sub-paragraph (a ) of paragraph 2 the word “ and ” (last occurring) ;(
b ) by omitting from sub-paragraph (b ) of paragraph 2 the words “ One hundred and seventeen pounds ” and inserting in their stead the words “ One hundred and thirty pounds ”; and(
c ) by omitting from sub-paragraph (b ) of paragraph 2 the words “ One hundred and fifty-six pounds ” and inserting in their stead the words “ One hundred and sixty-nine pounds ”;(
d ) by inserting after sub-paragraph (b ) of paragraph 2 the following word and sub-paragraph :—“ ; and (
c ) in the case of a student not residing with his parent—(i) reimbursement of the amount by which the cost of a concessional second-class rail fare for a journey made from the student’s home to the training institution to commence training exceeds Two pounds ten shillings;
(ii) reimbursement of the amount by which the cost of a concessional second-class return rail fare for a return journey made during the long vacation from the training institution to the student’s home exceeds Five pounds; and
(iii) reimbursement of the amount by which the cost of a concessional second-class rail fare for a journey made from the training institution to the student’s home on completion of training exceeds Two pounds ten shillings.”; and
(
e ) by omitting from sub-paragraph (b ) of paragraph 3 the words “ Five pounds four shillings ” and inserting in their stead the words “ Four pounds ”.
