PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-10.

Regulations (Provisional) for Universal Training.—New Regulation 4a.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that, on account of urgency, the following Regulation under be Defence Act 1903-1910 should come into immediate operation, and make the Regulation to come into operation forthwith as a Provisional Regulation.

REGULATIONS (PROVISIONAL) FOR UNIVERSAL TRAINING

Part II.—Registration.

After Universal Training, Regulation 4, add new Regulation 4A:—

4A. “If for any reason a person liable to be trained is not registered at the prescribed time, he shall register in the manner prescribed by Regulation 4 during the month of January next following the commencement of the liability to be trained, and where that time has passed he shall register in the manner prescribed by Regulation 4 during the month of January next following the date when registration should have been effected, and so forth, so that in each month of January every person liable to be trained and who is not registered before the first day of that month shall be under a duty to register during that month, and liable in the event of his not doing so to a penalty not exceeding Ten pounds in respect of each omission.”
