PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1911.

Amendment to Universal Training Regulation 57, Part III.—Senior Cadets.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that, on account of urgency, the following Regulation under the Defence Act 1903-1911 should come into immediate operation, and make the Regulation to come into operation forthwith as a Provisional Regulation.

REGULATIONS (PROVISIONAL) FOR UNIVERSAL TRAINING.

Part III.—Senior Cadets.

Amendment.

SENIOR CADET OFFICERS’ ALLOWANCES.

In Regulation 57, for—

“Payments to be made annually in arrear, and to be dependent on the recommendation of the Commanding Officer and approval of the Commandant,”

substitute—

“(1) Payments, which will be made as follows, will be dependent on the recommendation of the Commanding Officer, and approval of the Commandant.

(a) One-half of the annual rate will be paid during the month of February of the financial year in which the allowance is due (for the financial year 1911-1912, this payment will be made during the month of June, 1912).

(b) One-half of the annual rate will be paid during the month of August following the financial year for which the allowance is due.

(2) Payments under (1)(a) will be made to all officers who were serving on the 31st January preceding, and will be at the rate of one-half of the annual amount prescribed for the appointment actually held by the officer on that date.

(3) Payments under (1) (b) will similarly be made to all officers who were serving on the 31st July preceding, and will be at the rate of one-half of the annual amount prescribed for the appointment actually held by the officer on that date.”
