Arrangement for conduct of election.

[1]        On 14 May 2015 the Aviation Branch of the United Firefighters' Union of Australia

lodged with the Fair Work Commission the prescribed information in relation to an election

for the following offices due to insufficient nominations in E2015/72:

Branch Committee of Management Member from the following:

Western Australia	(1)
Tasmania	(1)

Branch Organiser from the following Rescue and Firefighting Units:

Alice Springs	(1)
Ballina	(1)
Brisbane	(1)
Broome	(1)
Cairns	(1)

Karratha	(1)
Launceston	(1)
Mackay	(1)
Melbourne	(1)

[2]        Regulation 138(1) of the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Regulations 2009

provides the prescribed information that is required to be lodged under section 189(1) of the

Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009. The prescribed information should include,

among other information, the electorate and the voting system in the conduct of the election

of the requested offices. I note the prescribed information lodged does not provide the

electorate of the Branch Committee of Management Members or the voting system of those

offices or the Branch Organisers. Full compliance with the legislative requirements is

expected in regard to the arrangement for the conduct of elections of offices of a registered

organisation. Future prescribed information must address all the legislative requirements.

[3]        I am satisfied that an election for the abovenamed offices is required to be held under

the rules of the organisation and, under subsection 189(3) of the Fair Work (Registered

Organisations) Act 2009, I am making arrangements for the conduct of the election by the

Australian Electoral Commission.
