The Uniform Rules Committee has made the following rule of court under the Civil Procedure

Act 2005.

Explanatory note

The object of this Rule is to amend the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules 2005 for the following purposes—

(a)

to provide for judgments and orders to be taken to be entered when a document embodying the judgment or order is signed and sealed by a judicial officer,

(b)

to assign certain business under the Public Works and Procurement Act 1912 to the commercial list of the equity division of the Supreme Court.

1      Name of Rule

This Rule is the Uniform Civil Procedure (Amendment No 93) Rule 2020.

2      Commencement

This Rule commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Uniform Civil Procedure Rules 2005

(1) Rule 36.11 Entry of judgments and orders

Insert “judicial officer or” before “registrar” in rule 36.11(2A)(a).

(2) Schedule 8 Assignment of business in the Supreme Court
Insert in appropriate order in Part 1—
Public Works and Section 176D, 176E Equity Commercial
Procurement Act or 176F
