[ASSENTED TO 6TH APRIL, 1948.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1 This Act may be cited as "The Unemployed Short title Workers Insurance Acts Amendment Act of 1948" and : ~ : Btruction. shall be read as one with *" The Unemployed Workers Insurance Acts, 1922 to 1944," herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively Collective cited as "The Unemployed Workers Insurance Acts, title. 1922 to 1948." 2. Section two of the Principal Act is amended by Amendment repealing the definition of the term "Director of of s. 2. Labour" and by inserting in lieu thereof the following definition, namely :- " " Director of Labour "-The Director of Director of Labour appointed under this Act: the term Labour. includes any person authorised for the time being by the Minister to carry out the functions and duties of that office." 3. [ASSENTED TO 15TH DECEMBER, 1947.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows ;- Short title 1. This Act may be cited as " The Workers' Oompen- and t t' sation Acts Amendment Act of 1947," and shall be read cons rue lOn. as one with *" The Workers' Oompensation Acts, 1916 to 1946," herein referred to as the Principal Act. Collective The Principal Act and this Act may collectively be titJe. cited as "The Workers' Oompensation Acts, 1916 to 1947." Amendment 2. Subparagraph (iv.) of the first paragraph of of s. 3 (2A). subsection (2A) of section three of the Principal Act is amended by repealing the words "or cut chaff or sugar- cane" and by inserting the words " or to cut chaff or to cut and/or haul and/or load sugar-cane or to press fodder" in lieu of such repealed words. Amendment 3. Section fourteen of the Principal Act is amended of s. 14 as follows ;_ (i.) In paragraph (i.) of provision (A) of subsection one thereof the words "eight hundred pounds" are repealed where such words appear in the first subparagraph of the said paragraph (i.) and the words" one thousand pounds " are inserted in lieu of such repealed words. * 6 G. 5 No. 35 and amending Acts.
