Unclaimed Moneys Amendment Act 2001

An Act to amend the Unclaimed Moneys Act 1918

[Royal Assent 12 April 2001]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Unclaimed Moneys Amendment Act 2001 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Unclaimed Moneys Act 1918 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 8A insertedAfter section 8 of the Principal Act , the following section is inserted in Part 2: 8AMoney paid under Legal Profession Act 1993 Any money paid into the Consolidated Fund under section 145A(2) and 147(4) of the Legal Profession Act 1993 is taken to be money paid to the Treasurer under this Act.
