1—Short title
These regulations may be cited as the Unclaimed Goods Regulations 1998.
2—Commencement
These regulations come into operation on the day on which they are made.
3—Revocation
The Unclaimed Goods Regulations 1987 (see Gazette 30.7.1987 p295) are revoked.
4—Interpretation
In these regulations—
the Act means the Unclaimed Goods Act 1987.
5—Variation of values in definitions of scale 1, scale 2 and scale 3
The value of $100 referred to in the definitions of scale 1 and scale 2 in section 3(1) of the Act is varied to $200.
The value of $500 referred to in the definitions of scale 2 and scale 3 in section 3(1) of the Act is varied to $1 000.
6—Forms
A notice for the purposes of section 5(2)(d)(ii) of the Act must be in the form set out in Schedule 1.
A notice for the purposes of section 6(5)(b) of the Act must be in the form set out in Schedule 2.

The Unclaimed Goods Regulations 1998 were revoked by Sch 3 of the Unclaimed Goods Regulations 2013 on 1.9.2013.
