Trustee Companies Regulations 2016

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Trustee Companies Act 1953 .19 September 2016

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Trustee Companies Regulations 2016 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on 27 September 2016. 3InterpretationIn these regulations – Act means the Trustee Companies Act 1953 . 4Prescribed amounts under section 10A of Act (1) For the purposes of section 10A(1)(c) of the Act, the prescribed amount is $80 000. (2) For the purposes of section 10A(6)(a) of the Act, the prescribed amount is $85 000.

These regulations are administered in the Department of Justice.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation) For the purposes of the

(a) prescribe certain amounts relating to an election to administer small estates under that Act; and (b) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Trustee Companies Regulations 2006 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .
