Commencement Proclamation

under the

Trustee Companies Amendment Act 2009 No 109

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN, Lieutenant-Governor I, the Honourable James Jacob Spigelman AC, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Trustee Companies Amendment Act 2009, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)	the day on which Schedule 2 to the Corporations Legislation Amendment (Financial Services Modernisation) Act 2009 of the Commonwealth commences as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act (other than Schedule 1 [6]) commence, and
(b)	1 July 2010 as the day on which Schedule 1 [6] commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions (other than a provision relating to common funds) of the Trustees Companies Amendment Act 2009 on the day on which the legislation under which the Commonwealth assumes responsibility for the regulation of trustee companies commences. The Proclamation commences the provision relating to common funds on 1 July 2010.
