Trustee Companies (Amendment) Act 1993

An Act to amend the Trustee Companies Act 1947

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Trustee Companies (Amendment) Act 1993.
Commencement
2. This Act commences on the day on which it is notified in the Gazette.
Principal Act
3. In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Trustee Companies Act 1947.1
Insertion
4. After section 3 of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:
Change of name
“3A. Where—
(a)a company changes its name in accordance with the Corporations Law; and
(b)the company, under its former name, is specified in Schedule 1;
the reference in that Schedule to the company under its former name shall be taken to be a reference to the company under its new name.”.
Further amendments
5. The Principal Act is amended as set out in the Schedule.

Omit “or he”, substitute “, he or she”.
Subsection 22 (2)—
(a)Omit “him” (first occurring), substitute “the person”.
(b)Insert “or her” after “him” (last occurring).
Subsection 23 (2)—
(a)Omit “he” (first occurring), substitute “the person”.
(b)Omit “or he”, substitute “, he or she”.
Subsection 28 (2)—
Insert “or her” after “him”.
Subsections 30 (2) and (4)—
Omit “or he”, substitute “, he or she”.
Subsection 31A (1)—
Insert “or her” after “him”.
Subsection 33 (1)—
Insert “or her” after “his”.
