TREASURY INDEMNITY ACT.

Act No. 23, 1928.

An Act to indemnify the Colonial Treasurer, the Officers of the Treasury, and other persons. in respect of certain withdrawals and pay- ments during the year 1927-28 from the Consolidated Revenue Accounts of the Colonial Treasurer in the Banks keeping such Accounts in anticipation of Parlia- mentary appropriation and warrant of the Governor. [Assented to, 16th June, 1928.]

WHEREAS

WH E R E AS cer ta in sums of money were d u r i n g t h e period first day of Apr i l to twen ty -

w i t h d r a w n

four th day of M a y , one thousand n ine hund red and
twen ty -e igh t , from t h e Consolidated R e v e n u e Accoun t s
of t h e Colonial Treasurer in t h e Banks keep ing
such Accoun t s , in ant ic ipa t ion of Pa r l i amen ta ry
appropr ia t ion a n d w a r r a n t of t h e Governor , for t h e
purpose of p a y i n g the c u r r e n t expenses of t h e various
D e p a r t m e n t s and Services of t he Sta te , which said sums
arc shown in t h e Schedule here to , a n d a m o u n t to t he
sum of Four mi l l ion n ine h u n d r e d and seventy-e ight
t h o u s a n d five h u n d r e d a n d fifty-six pounds and t e n
p e n c e :  A n d whereas t h e respect ive sums so w i t h d r a w n
a n d p a y m e n t s  so m a d e were necessary to ca r ry on and

m a i n t a i n t h e Pub l i c Se rv i ce : A n d whereas i t is expedient to indemnify all persons concerned or engaged in the m a t t e r of such wi thdrawal s or pay­ m e n t s : Be i t therefore enacted b y t h e K i n g ' s Most

Assembly of N e w Sou th W a l e s in P a r l i a m e n t assembled,

and by t h e au tho r i t y of t he same, as follows :—

Ac t , 1928 . "
2. The Colonial Treasurer , t h e Officers of t h e

Treasury , and all persons whosoever concerned or engaged in m a k i n g the said wi thdrawals or p a y m e n t s are he reby indemnified and held harmless for and in respect of t he wi thd rawa l and expend i tu re of t h e said s u m of

Four mill ion n ine h u n d r e d and seventy-e ight t h o u s a n d
five h u n d r e d and fifty-six pounds a n d ten pence .
