TRAVEL AGENTS AMENDMENT

ACT

No. 27 of 1989

AN ACT to amend the Travel Agents Act 1985.

[Assented to 12 December 1989]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Short title

1.    This Act may be cited as the Travel Agents Amendment Act 1989.

Principal Act

2. In this Act the Travel Agents Act 1985* is referred to as the

principal Act.

Section 13 amended

"

3. Section 13 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after

subsection (2) the following subsection

(2a) Where a person who is a licensee ceases to participate in the

Compensation Scheme

(a)

that person's licence is suspended until that person again participates in the Compensation Scheme; and

(b)

that person shall return the licence to the Registrar without delay. ".

Section 18 amended

4. Section 18 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after

"suspended under section" in both places where occurring the following-

" 13 (2a) or ".
