Travel Agents Amendment (Fees)

Regulation 1997

Travel Agents Act 1986

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,, has

made the following Regulation under the Travel TravAgents Act 1986.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Regulation are: 
(a)  to increase the application fee for a travel agent’s licence from $50 to $60, and
(b)  to increase the licence fee for each place in which the business of a travel agent is carried on from $235 to $290, and
(c)  to remove three fees relating to the registration of the address of a business.

This Regulation is made under the Travel Agents Act 1986, including sections 8 (3), 10 (7), 17(1) and 57 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Travel Agents Amendment (Fees)

Regulation 1997.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 1997.

  1. Amendment of Travel Agents Regulation 1995

    The Travel Agents Regulation 1995 is amended as set out in

    Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(Clause 3)

  1. Clause 6 Application fee

    Omit “$50”. Insert instead “$60”.

  2. Clause 7 Licence fees

    Omit “$235” from clause 7 (l). Insert instead “$290”.

  3. Clause 11 Prescribed particulars of person in charge

    Omit clause 11. (l).
