Transport (Roads and Property) (West Gate Bridge

Amendment) Regulations 1997

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to remove a prohibition on the transport of liquefied petroleum gas and other liquefied gas over the West Gate

Bridge.

2. Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 56 and
256 of the Transport Act 1983.

3.  Substitution of regulation 31 of the Principal Regulations

For regulation 31 of the Transport (Roads and
Property) Regulations 19931 substitute—
"31. Prohibition of vehicles carrying explosives

A person must not drive or be in charge of a vehicle on the West Gate Bridge if the

vehicle is carrying explosives for which the
person is required to hold a licence to
transport explosives under the Dangerous
Goods (Explosives) Regulations 1988.

Penalty: 3 Penalty units.".
