Transport (Road Rules - Consequential

Amendment) Regulations 1999

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are—

(a)

Transport (Roads and Property) Regulations

to make consequential amendments to the Regulations 1994 because of the introduction of the Road Rules; and

(b) to make other minor amendments.

2. Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 56,

185 and 256 of the Transport Act 1983.

3. Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on

1 December 1999.

4. Transport (Roads and Property) Regulations 1993

Transport (Road Rules - Consequential Amendment)

Regulations 1999 S.R. No. 123/1999

(1) In regulation 5(1) of the Transport (Roads and

Property) Regulations 19931, after the definition
of "road" insert—

' "Road Rules" has the same meaning as in the

Road Safety (Road Rules) Regulations

1999;'.

(2) In regulation 5 of the Transport (Roads and

Property) Regulations 1993, for sub-regulation (2)
substitute—
"(2) A word or phrase used in Part 3 and in the

Road Rules that is not defined in these Regulations, but is defined in the Road Rules, has the same meaning as in the Road

Rules.".

(3) In regulation 13 of the Transport (Roads and

Property) Regulations 1993—

(a) in sub-regulation (2), omit "or cyclist";

(b) in sub-regulation (4)—

(i) in paragraph (c), omit "a cycle,";

(ii) in paragraph (e), omit "or cyclist".

(4) In regulation 25(1)(c) of the Transport (Roads and

Property) Regulations 1993, omit "or" (where secondly occurring).

(5) In regulation 30(1)(a) of the Transport (Roads and Property) Regulations 1993, for "the Road Safety (Traffic) Regulations 1988" substitute "Part 12 of the Road Rules".

In Schedule 4 to the Transport (Tow Truck)

Regulations 19942—

(a)

for "RS (P) R—Road Safety (Procedures) Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999";
