Transport Regulations Amendment (Fares)

Regulations 2018

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

Part 1 — Preliminary

1.   Citation

These regulations are the Transport Regulations Amendment
(Fares) Regulations 2018.

2.   Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)	regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette;
(b)	the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

Part 2 — Taxi Regulations 1995 amended

3. Regulations amended

This Part amends the Taxi Regulations 1995.

(3) Subregulation (1) does not apply if the taxi is hired at a
taxi rank or as a result of hailing the driver.

4. Regulation 6A amended
Delete regulation 6A(2) and (3) and insert:

(2) However, if a voucher is to be used for the payment or part-payment of the contract fare, the amount agreed under subregulation (1) must not exceed the fare (as calculated in accordance with the appropriate tariff set

out in Schedule 3) that would otherwise be payable for
the hire of the taxi.

5.            Regulation 8 amended

In regulation 8(2) and (6) after "fare" insert:

or a contract fare

6.            Regulations amended

This Part amends the Transport (Country Taxi-cars Fares)
Regulations 1991.

7.

Regulation 3AA amended
Delete regulation 3AA(2) and (3) and insert:

(2)	However, if a voucher is to be used for the payment or part-payment of the contract fare, the amount agreed under subregulation (1) must not exceed the fare (as calculated in accordance with the appropriate tariff set Out in Schedule 1) that would otherwise be payable for the hire of the taxi-car.
(3)	Subregulation (1) does not apply if the taxi-car is hired at a taxi stand or as a result of hailing the driver.

Regulation 5A amended
In regulation 5A(2) and (6) after "fare" insert:
