s1 2 s3 Transport Operations (Road Use No. 177, 2000 Management—Driver Licensing) Amendment (No. 2) ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Driver Licensing) Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2000 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the TransportOperations(RoadUseManagement—Driver Licensing) Regulation 1999 . ˙ Insertion of new s 18A 3. In part 4, after section 18— insert— ˙ Exception for licence granted to interstate licence holder 18A.(1) This section applies if an applicant for a Queensland driver licence is the holder of a valid interstate licence. (2) If the chief executive decides to grant the Queensland driver licence, the chief executive may, at the choice of the applicant, grant the Queensland driver licence— (a) for the same period as the unexpired period of the interstate licence; or (b) for another period that includes the unexpired period. (3) Despite section 3 and schedule 1— (a) if the licence is granted only for the same period as the unexpired period, no fee is payable for the licence; and (b) if the licence is granted for another period that includes the unexpired period, no fee is payable for the licence to the extent the licence is for the unexpired period. (4) In this section— “interstate licence” means an Australian driver licence, other than a Queensland driver licence.’.
