Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Amendment Standard (No. 1) 2008 [s 1] 1 Short title This standard may be cited as the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Amendment Standard (No. 1) 2008 . 2 Commencement This standard commences on 2 January 2009. 3 Standard amended This standard amends the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Standard 2000 . 4 Amendment of s 7 (Qualifications for operating relevant vehicles other than motorbikes) Section 7(4), ‘scheduled passenger service, long distance scheduled passenger service’— omit, insert — ‘general route service, school service’. 5 Amendment of s 30 (Access to information about services provided) (1) Section 30(1)(a), ‘scheduled passenger service’— omit, insert — ‘general route service or school service’. (2) Section 30(2), ‘scheduled passenger service’— omit, insert — ‘general route service, school service’. 6 Amendment of s 33 (Scheduled service—what must be shown on vehicle) (1) Section 33, heading— omit, insert — Page 2 2008 SL No. 397

(2) Section 33, from ‘a scheduled’ to ‘school service,’— omit, insert— ‘a general route service or school service’. 7 Amendment of sch 4 (Dictionary) Schedule 4— insert — ‘ long distance scheduled passenger service means a road based general service in which passengers are carried on an established route— (a) for an average distance of at least 40km; or (b) between non-adjoining service contract areas or routes. tourist service means a pre-booked public passenger service operated in accordance with a publicly available itinerary to— (a) a common scenic or tourist attraction; or (b) if the service is not wholly within a service contract area or route—a major sporting or cultural event.’.
