s1 2 s4 Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) No. 357, 1997 Amendment (No. 2) ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 1997 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the TransportOperations(PassengerTransport) Regulation 1994 . ˙ Amendment of s 19 (Service contracts required for administration of taxi services—Act, s 66) 3. Section 19, ‘declared under chapter 5’— omit . ˙ Insertion of new s 41A 4. Part 7, after section 41— insert— ˙ ‘ Restriction on bus charter ‘ 41A.(1 ) This section applies if a charter bus service is operating in a taxi service area, other than an area for which a day has been fixed by the chief executive under section 66 1 of the Act. ‘ (2) The operator of the service must not knowingly charter a bus for a charter in the area unless the group for which the bus is to be provided comprises at least 6 persons. Maximum penalty—20 penalty units. ‘ (3) Subsection (2) does not apply if the charter is arranged by a school or a genuine tourist group. ‘ (4) This section expires 3 years after it commences.’. 1 Section 66 (Regulation may declare that service contracts are required) of the Act
