Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 [s 1] 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 . 2 Commencement This regulation commences on 1 July 2008. 3 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Regulation 2005. 4 Amendment of s 20 (Application for grant or renewal of driver authorisation) (1) Section 20(2)— omit, insert— ‘(2) The application must be— (a) made in the approved form; and (b) accompanied by evidence that satisfies the chief executive that the person is— (i) an Australian citizen; or (ii) a permanent resident; or (iii) a New Zealand citizen who is the holder of a special category visa as defined by the Migration Act 1958 (Cwlth), section 32; or (iv) entitled, under a visa granted under the Migration Act 1958 (Cwlth), to work in Australia.’. (2) Section 20(3)— insert— ‘ permanent resident means the holder of a permanent visa as defined by the Migration Act 1958 (Cwlth), section 30(1).’. Page 2 2008 SL No. 186
