s1 2 s4 Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Exemption (No. 9) No. 286, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Exemption Regulation (No. 9) 1996 . ˙ Definitions 2. In this regulation— “course” means the course over the waters of Fitzroy River (Laurel Banks) shown in red on the course map. “course map” means the map marked ‘Schedule A’ prepared by the department on 20 September 1996 and held at its Gladstone office. 1 “event” means the Queensland Speed and Marathon Titles to be conducted by the Queensland Ski Racing Association (Central Region) on the Fitzroy River (Laurel Banks) on 26 and 27 October 1996 over the course. “participant” , in the event, includes a genuine competitor, marshal, safety official or other person involved in conducting the event. ˙ Exemption 3 . A participant operating a ship in, or in connection with, the event is exempted from the TransportOperations(MarineSafety)Regulation 1995 , sections 95(2) and 99. 2 ˙ Expiry 4.
