s1 2 s4 Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Exemption (No. 8) No. 276, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Exemption Regulation (No. 8) 1996 . ˙ Definitions 2. In this regulation— “course” means the course over the waters of Halifax Bay near the mouth of Victoria Creek shown in red on the course map. “course map” means the map marked ‘Schedule A’ prepared by the department in October 1996 and held at its Townsville office. 1 “event” means the Tinnie Races, Waterski Races, Women’s Ski Race and 150 HP Class Ski Race conducted by the Ingham Maraka Festival Inc. on 13 October 1996, over the course. “participant” includes a genuine competitor, marshal or safety official for the event or another person involved in conducting the event. ˙ Exemption 3 . A participant operating a ship in, or in connection with, the event is exempted from the TransportOperations(MarineSafety)Regulation1995 , sections 95(2) and 99. 2 ˙ Expiry 4.
