s1 2 s4 Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment No. 452, 1994 (No. 6) ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment Regulation (No. 6) 1994 . ˙ Commencement 2. This regulation commences on 30 January 1995. ˙ Regulation amended 3. This regulation amends the TransportInfrastructure(Roads)Regulation 1991 . ˙ Amendment of s 4.17 (Transfer of registration) 4.(1) Section 4.17(1)— omit, insert— ‘ 4.17(1) A person who buys, or otherwise acquires, a registered vehicle must apply for transfer of the vehicle’s registration within 14 days after the person acquires it.’. (2) Section 4.17— insert— ‘ (2A) However, subsection (2)(a) and (b) do not apply to a transfer lodged under subsection (6A).’. (3) Section 4.17(3), ‘7 days’— omit, insert— ‘14 days’. (4) Section 4.17(5)— omit. (5) Section 4.17— insert— ‘ (6A) If a person (the “seller” )—

s5 3 s5 Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment No. 452, 1994 (No. 6) (a) sells or otherwise disposes of a registered vehicle to someone else (the “buyer” ); and (b) reasonably believes the buyer has not applied for transfer of the vehicle’s registration within 14 days after acquiring it; the seller may apply for transfer of the vehicle’s registration to the buyer.’. (6) Section 4.17(7), after ‘subsection (1)’— insert— ‘or (6A), or a notification under subsection (3)’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.18 (Transfer of registration under legal process) 5.
