s1 2 s5 Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment No. 314, 1994 (No. 4) ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment Regulation (No. 4) 1994 . ˙ Commencement 2. This regulation commences on 1 September 1994. ˙ Regulation amended 3. This regulation amends the TransportInfrastructure(Roads)Regulation 1991 . ˙ Amendment of s 1.02 (Definitions) 4. Section 1.02— insert— ‘ “appropriate insurance premium” has the meaning given in section 21 of the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 . “CTP insurance policy” has the meaning given in the Motor AccidentInsurance Act 1994 . “licensed insurer” has the meaning given in the Motor Accident InsuranceAct 1994 .’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.03 (Application for registration) 5.(1) Section 4.03(1)(d) and (e)— omit, insert— ‘(d) an insurance certificate for the vehicle or the appropriate insurance premium, for the proposed period of registration, under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 ; and’. (2) Section 4.03(1)(f), (g), (h) and (i)— renumber as section 4.03(1)(e), (f), (g) and (h).

Section 4.05(2)(b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) if the vehicle is required to be insured under the Motor AccidentInsuranceAct1994 —an insurance certificate, for the proposed period of registration, under the Motor Accident Insurance Act1994 exists for the vehicle; and’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.08 (Effective period of registration) 7. Section 4.08(2), ‘but excluding’— omit, insert— ‘and including’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.16 (Renewal of registration) 8.(1) Section 4.16(2)(c) and (d)— omit, insert— ‘(c) an insurance certificate for the vehicle or the appropriate insurance premium, for the proposed period of registration, under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 ; and’. (2) Section 4.16(2)(e) and (f)— renumber as 4.16(2)(d) and (e). ˙ Amendment of s 4.19 (Cancellation of registration) 9.(1) Section 4.19(3), (4), (5) and (6)— renumber as 4.19(4), (5), (6) and (7). (2) Section 4.19— insert— ‘ (3) In addition, the Corporation may (by written notice to an owner) cancel a vehicle’s registration if—
s 10 4 s 12 Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment No. 314, 1994 (No. 4) (a) an amount paid to the Corporation on an application for registration or renewal of registration is paid by a cheque that is dishonoured; and (b) after a notice is given under section 5.03, the amount is not paid to the Corporation within 28 days after the date of the notice under section 5.03.’. (3) Section 4.19(5) and (7)(a) as renumbered, ‘subsection (3)’— omit, insert — ‘subsection (4)’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.20 (Vehicles registered elsewhere) 10. Section 4.20(1)(e)(i) and (ii)— omit, insert— ‘(i) for a vehicle registered in a foreign country—under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 ; or (ii) for a vehicle registered in the Commonwealth or another State—under a contract of insurance made under a law of the Commonwealth or State that is similar to the Motor AccidentInsurance Act 1994 ; and’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.22 (Limited use permits) 11. Section 4.22(2)(b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) an insurance certificate for the vehicle, for the proposed period of the permit, under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 .’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.23 (Limited use plates) 12.(1) Section 4.23(2)(c) and (d)— omit, insert— ‘(c) an insurance certificate for the vehicle or the appropriate insurance

(2) Section 4.23(2)(e)— renumber as section 4.23(2)(d). ˙ Amendment of s 4.24 (Issue of dealer’s plates) 13. Section 4.24(2)(b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) an insurance certificate for the vehicle or the appropriate insurance premium, for the period for which the plate is to be effective, under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 ; and’. ˙ Amendment of Sch 1 (Fees) 14. Schedule 1, Part 4, item 2(b)(ii) and (c)(ii), from ‘insurer’ to ‘ 1936 ’— omit, insert— ‘licensed insurer’. ENDNOTES 1. Made by the Governor in Council on 24 August 1994. 2.
