s1 2 s4 Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment No. 127, 1994 (No. 2) ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 1994 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the TransportInfrastructure(Roads)Regulation 1991. ˙ Amendment of s 1.02 (Definitions) 3.(1) Section 1.02, definition “personalised number plate” — omit. (2) Section 1.02— insert— ‘ “coloured number plate” means a customised number plate other than a customised number plate with— (a) green symbols on a white background; or (b) white symbols on a black background; “customised number plate” means a number plate declared by the Corporation to be a customised number plate under section 4.14A; “personalised number plate” means an ordinary, traditional, prestige, corporate or investment personalised number plate specified in Schedule 2, and includes a customised number plate; ’. ˙ Amendment of s 1.04 (Fees) 4. Section 1.04— omit ‘ section ’, insert ‘ sections 1.04A and ’.

After section 1.04— insert— ˙ ‘Reduced fees—personalised number plates ‘1.04A If a person applies for the issue of more than 1 pair of personalised number plates at the same time, the fee that would, but for this section, be payable may be reduced to a fee decided by the Corporation. ’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.14 (Personalised number plates) 6.(1) Section 4.14(3)(c)— omit. (2) Section 4.14— insert— ‘(3A) The right to use the combination of letters and numerals in a personalised number plate (other than a customised number plate) may be transferred by way of sale, gift or bequest. ’. ˙ Insertion of new s 4.14A 7. After section 4.14— insert— ˙ ‘Customised number plates ‘4.14A(1) The Corporation may declare that a particular number plate is a customised number plate— (a) on application made by the person to whom the plate is issued; and (b) on payment of the fee prescribed under Schedule 1 for customising a number plate. ‘(2) A customised number plate may differ from another number plate because of its size or colour, or because of another feature or quality.
s8 4 s9 Transport Infrastructure (Roads) Amendment No. 127, 1994 (No. 2) ‘(3) A customised number plate that is reduced in size to suit certain vehicles (a “slimline number plate” ) may only be attached to the front of a vehicle. ’. ˙ Amendment of s 4.30 (Property in number plates) 8. Section 4.30— insert— ‘(2) However, the right to use the combination of letters and numerals in a personalised number plate issued to a person is the property of the person to whom the plate is issued. ‘(3) In this section— “personalised number plate” does not include a customised number plate. ’. ˙ Amendment of Sch 1 (Fees) 9.(1) Schedule 1, Part 3, item 1(a), after ‘ordinary’— insert ‘ or corporate ’. (2) Schedule 1, Part 3, after item 1(d)— insert— ‘ (e) coloured number plates (f) number plates with a previously cancelled registration number . . . (3) Schedule 1, Part 3, item 1(e)— 100.00 100.00 ’. renumber as item 1(g). (4) Schedule 1, Part 3, after item 2(a)— insert— ‘ (b) customised number plates by coloured number plates . . . . . . . (5) Schedule 1, Part 3, item 2(b)— 75.00 ’.

Corporate personalised number plate any combination of up to 5 letters and numerals including at least 1 letter with the first and only or last and only letter not being ‘Q’ front and rear of a motor vehicle or rear of a trailer rear of a motorcycle 11. Investment personalised number plate up to 5 numerals followed by ‘Q’ front and rear of a motor vehicle or rear of a trailer rear of a motorcycle 12. Farm number ‘F’ followed by plate 5 numerals front and rear 13. Dealer’s 1 letter followed by rear number plate 6 numerals 14. Limited use 1 letter followed by rear number plate 5 numerals 15.
