s1 2 s4 Transport Infrastructure (Ports) Amendment No. 169, 1995 (No. 1) ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Transport Infrastructure (Ports) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1995 . ˙ Commencement 2. This regulation commences on 1 July 1995. ˙ Regulation amended 3. This regulation amends the TransportInfrastructure(Ports)Regulation 1994 . ˙ Insertion of new pt 6A 4. After part 6— insert— ‘ PART 6A—MISCELLANEOUS ˙ ‘ Declaration of port authorities 1 ‘ 50A.(1) Each associate under the GovernmentOwnedCorporations(Ports) Regulation 1995 is a port authority. ‘ (2) The names of the associates are— • Bundaberg Port Authority • Cairns Port Authority 1 The associates are established under the Government Owned Corporations (Ports)Regulation1995 . Under that regulation, they become statutory GOCs. Accordingly, as well as the functions and powers set out in the Act, chapter 6 (Port infrastructure), part 3 (Functions and powers of port authorities), each associate has the general powers set out in the Government Owned CorporationsAct 1993 , section 149 (General powers of statutory GOCs. However, a statutory GOCs powers are subject to the restrictions mentioned in that Act, section 150 (Restrictions on powers of statutory GOCs).
