Transport (Consequential Amendment) Regulations
1999
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objectives
The objectives of these Regulations are to—
(a) make consequential amendments to—
(i) the Transport (Roads and Property) Regulations 1993; and
(ii) the Transport (Passengers and Rail Freight) Regulations 1994; and
(iii) the Transport (Tow Truck) Regulations 1994; and
(b)
amend the Transport (Passenger Vehicles) Regulations 1994.
2. Authorising provisions
These Regulations are made under sections 56, 162, 249B and 256 of the Transport Act 1983.

3. Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 May
1999.4. Transport (Roads and Property) Regulations 1993— Consequential amendment
In the Transport (Roads and Property) Regulations
19931—
(a)
in regulation 5(1), the definition of "recreation vehicle" is revoked;
(b)
in regulation 14(6)(a), for "recreation vehicle" substitute "motor vehicle for recreational purposes";
(c) regulation 23 is revoked;
(d) in regulation 25(1)—(i) in paragraph (a), sub-paragraph (i) is revoked;
(ii) paragraph (d) is revoked.
5. Transport (Passengers and Rail Freight) Regulations 1994—Consequential amendment
In regulation 322(1) and (2) of the Transport
(Passengers and Rail Freight) Regulations 19942,
for paragraph (a) substitute—"(a) any vehicle with a mass limit that exceeds a
mass limit for that vehicle under the Road
Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999; or".
6. Transport (Tow Truck) Regulations 1994—
Consequential amendmentIn regulation 14 of the Transport (Tow Truck)
Regulations 19943, for paragraph (d) substitute—
Transport (Consequential Amendment) Regulations 1999
S.R. No. 30/1999 r. 7 "(d) is being used in accordance with—
(i) a class 1, 2 or 3 notice published by the Corporation in the Government Gazette under the Road Safety (Vehicles)
Regulations 1999; or
(ii) a class 1, 2, or 3 permit issued by the Corporation under the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999.".
7. Revocation of touting offence
Regulation 24 of the Transport (Passenger
Vehicles) Regulations 19944 is revoked.
