The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Transport (Conduct) Regulations 2005 as a consequence of the application of the Rail Safety National Law (Victoria).

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 56 of the Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) Act 1983.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 19 May 2014.

4Smoking

In regulation 24A(5) of the Transport (Conduct) Regulations 2005[1], in the definition of rolling stock, for "Rail Safety Act 2006" substitute "Rail Safety (Local Operations) Act 2006 or the Rail Safety National Law (Victoria)".
