Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) (Ticketing) Amendment Regulations 2020

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe a device for the purposes of sections 230AB, 230AD and 230AE of the Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) Act 1983.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 230AH of the Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) Act 1983.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Transport (Compliance and Miscellaneous) (Ticketing) Regulations 2017[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Definitions and reference provisions

In regulation 5(1) of the Principal Regulations, for the definition of Handheld Retail substitute

"Handheld Retail means—

(a)a PSION WORKABOUT PRO S Model 7527S-G2; or

(b)a ZEBRA Model TC77—

that is being used by or on behalf of a retail agent in the course of that retail agent's activities as a retail agent;".

5Schedule 1—Prescribed devices

After item 22 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations insert

"23The device known as a ZEBRA Model TC77, if fitted with an operational smartcard security access module.".
