Act No. 177, 1987

An Act to amend the Transport Authorities Act 1980 so as to extend the area in which the Urban Transit Authority has functions relating to passenger transport services. [Assented to 4 December 1987]

Transport Authorities (Urban Transit Authority) Amendment 3987

The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:

Short title

1.     This Act may be cited as the Transport Authorities (Urban Transit

Authority) Amendment Act 1987.

Amendment of Act No. 103, 1980

2. The Transport Authorities Act 1980 is amended as set out in

Schedule 1.

SCHEDULE 1—AMENDMENTS

(Sec. 2)

0 ) Section 4 (Interpretation)—

Section 4 (1), definition of “urban passenger services”—

Omit paragraph (c), insert instead;

(c) services provided for the conveyance of passengers by the running of privately owned omnibuses, taxi-cabs or private hire cars within—

(i) the Transport Districts; or

(ii)  the local government areas, and parts of such areas, described in Schedule 6 (whether or not the names or boundaries of those areas are altered),

otherwise than in connection with tourist or charter

operations; and
