T>E it enacted by the Queen’s Afost Excellent Majesty, TJ by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Now South Wales in Pavliament assembled, and by the authority of
| the same, as follows;— | . |
Short title
| and | 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the “ Transport |
| citation. | (Amendment) Act, 1952’’. |
| (2) The Transport Act, 1930, as amended by subsequent Acts and by this Act, may be cited as the Transport Act, 1930-1952. |
2. The Transport Act, 1930, as amended by subsequent
| 18, 1930. | Acts, is amended— |
| Sec.219. | omitting paragraphs (a) and (b) of |
| (Offences.) | subsection one of section two hundred and nineteen and by inserting in lieu thereof the following paragraphs:— |
(a) without reasonable excuse—
(i) travels in or upon and leaves any tramcar or vehicle employed on any transport service without paying his fare ; or
(ii) attempts to travel in or upon any such tramcar or vehicle without paying his fare ; or
(iii) in or upon any such tramcar or vehicle, neglects or refuses ta pay his fare on demand by any

| officer, employee or agent of The | 9̂52, |
| Commissioner for Government Transport, whose duty requires him to collect or receive fares; or |
| b) | having paid his fare for a certain distance, without reasonable excuse proceeds in any such tramcar or vehicle beyond such distance without paying the additional fare for the additional distance; or; |
| (b) | by inserting next after the same section the New sec. following new section;— |
219a. Whosoever, being an officer, employee Conductor,
or agent of The Commissioner for Government
Transport, whose duty requires him to collect tocoUect

| (a) | refuses or without reasonable excuse ticket, neglects to accept the fare of any person when offered; or |
| (b) | refuses or without reasonable excuse neglects to demand the fare of any person where his duty requires him to collect such fare; or |
| (c) | having received any fare does not, without reasonable excuse, forthwith issue a ticket to the extent of the full value of such fare, |
shall for every such offence be liable to a penalty
not exceeding ten pounds.
