1Name of Order

This Order is the Transport Administration (State Transit Authority—Fares) Order 2010.

2Commencement

This Order commences on 18 April 2010 and is required to be published in the Gazette.

2ADefinition

In this Order:

Opal smartcard means a smartcard within the meaning of section 3 (1) of the Passenger Transport Act 1990 that has been issued by TfNSW as an Opal smartcard.

3Fares(1)

The fares to be demanded by the State Transit Authority in respect of the bus and ferry services supplied by that Authority in accordance with any of the tickets referred to in Schedule 1 are set out in that Schedule.

(2)

Any concession fare set out in Schedule 1 or 2 is available only:

  • (a)

    to persons of or above the age of 4 years but under the age of 16 years, and

  • (b)

    to the eligible holders of concessional travel passes issued under:

    • (i)

      section 88 of the Transport Administration Act 1988, or

    • (ii)

      any scheme approved by the Minister under clause 8 of Schedule 1 to that Act.

(3)

The fares to be demanded by the State Transit Authority in respect of bus and ferry services supplied by that Authority in accordance with an Opal smartcard:

  • (a)

    are set out in Schedule 2, and

  • (b)

    are subject to the fare caps set out in that Schedule.

4Repeal

The Transport Administration (State Transit Authority—Fares) Order 2004 is repealed.
