New South Wales

Transport Administration (State Transit

Authority—Fares) Further Amendment Order

(No 2) 2014

under the

Transport Administration Act 1988

I, Peter Rowley, the Chief Executive of the State Transit Authority, in pursuance of section 85 (2) of the Transport Administration Act 1988, make the following Order on behalf of the State Transit Authority.

Dated, this 11th day of December 2014.

PETER ROWLEY

Chief Executive of the State Transit Authority

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to amend the Transport Administration (State Transit Authority—Fares) Order 2010 (the Principal Order) to increase, on and from 4 January 2015, fares payable for certain single and multi-trip MyBus tickets, MyMulti weekly and day pass tickets, the bus term ticket and certain fares payable for Newcastle Multi-Ride bus tickets (Schedule 2 [1]).
This Order also amends the Principal Order:

(a)

to remove the fares for the Newcastle Multi-Ride Day bus-ferry ticket and the weekly, quarterly and yearly Newcastle Orange TravelPass and Newcastle Green TravelPass tickets (those tickets have not been available for purchase since 20 November 2014), and

(b)

to remove the full fare for the Newcastle Multi-Ride 4-Hour bus ticket (that ticket has also not been available for purchase since 20 November 2014, but the concession fare for that ticket remains in force as there is no Opal fare equivalent), and

(c)

to introduce MyTrain fares and Opal train fares, with effect on and from 26 December 2014, as a consequence of the closure of several railway stations in Newcastle while the new Wickham Transport Interchange and Newcastle light rail are constructed (Schedule 1 [1] and [2]). A rail replacement bus service will operate between the affected stations to a railway station where train services are provided. Those train fares will include travel in Newcastle on that bus service. Those train fares are being increased on and from 4 January 2015 in line with the fare increases under concurrent Orders relating to NSW Trains and Sydney Trains (Schedule 2 [1] and [2]).

This Order is made under section 85 (2) of the Transport Administration Act 1988.
