I, Peter Rowley, the Chief Executive of the State Transit Authority, in pursuance of section 85 (2) of the Transport Administration Act 1988, make the following Order. Dated, this 19th day of December 2012.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to amend the Transport Administration (State Transit Authority—

Fares) Order 2010:

(a) to increase, from 6 January 2013:

(i)

single trip, multi-trip and periodical fares for State Transit Authority services in the Sydney Suburban Area, and

(ii)

bus, intermodal service and intermodal periodical fares for the Authority’s services in the Newcastle Suburban Area, and

(iii)

the fare for a bus term ticket for school travel in either the Sydney or Newcastle Suburban Area, and

(b)

to decrease, from 6 January 2013 return tickets for special sporting and racecourse services, and

(c)

to introduce a special New Year’s Eve travel fare which allows unlimited travel on regular Sydney Buses between 3pm on 31 December and midday on 1 January (the following day).

This Order is made under the Transport Administration Act 1988 including sections 85

(Orders fixing charges) and 87 (General provisions relating to orders fixing charges).

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Transport Administration (State Transit Authority—
Fares) Amendment Order 2012.

2      Commencement

(1) Except as provided by subclause (2), this Order commences on
6 January 2013 and is required to be published in the Gazette.
(2) Schedule 1 [1] commences on 30 December 2012.
