Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to make a transitional amendment consequent on the enactment of the Transport Administration Amendment (Independent Transport Safety Regulator) Act 2017 (the amendment Act). The transitional amendment confers on the person holding or acting in the office of Chief Executive
of the Independent Transport Safety Regulator on the date of assent to the amendment Act, upon ceasing to

hold or act in that office, an entitlement to compensation of 38 weeks of salary (the standard compensation of Schedule 7.
amount payable to senior executives on termination of employment).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Transport Administration (General) Amendment
(Transitional) Regulation 2017.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Transport Administration (General) Regulation 2013

Clause 94

Insert after clause 93:

94      Transitional provision relating to Chief Executive of the Independent Transport Safety Regulator

(1) This clause applies to the person holding or acting in the office of Chief Executive of the Independent Transport Safety Regulator on the date of assent to the Transport Administration Amendment (Independent Transport Safety Regulator) Act 2017.
(2) On that person ceasing to hold or act in the office of Chief Executive, the provisions made under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 relating to compensation for termination of the employment of senior executives have effect so as to confer on that person the right to the payment of compensation of an amount equal to the person’s remuneration for a period of 38 weeks.
