I, John Douglas Stott, Chief Executive of the State Transit Authority, in pursuance of section 85 (2) of the Transport Administration Act 1988, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to amend the Transport Administration (State
Transit Authority—Fares) Order 1991:
(a) to increase certain fares for bus and ferry services in the Sydney Suburban Area (including services that are provided in conjunction with the rail services provided by the State Rail Authority), and (b) to provide for concessional travel on the special (racecourse) service to Royal Randwick racecourse. This Order is made under the Transport Administration Act 1988, including section 85 (Orders fixing charges) and, in particular, section 85 (2).

This Order is the Transport Administration (State Transit
Authonty—Fares) Amendment Order 1997.
2 Commencement
This Order commences on 29 June 1997.
3 Amendment of Transport Administration (State Transit
Authority—Fares) Order 1991
The Transport Administration (State Transit Authority-Fares)
Order 1991 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Order.

Omit the definition of special (racecourse) service.
Insert instead:special (racecourse) service means a bus service provided to and from race meetings on which special return fares are charged on forward journeys.
