TRANSPORT ADMINISTRATION AMENDMENT (LIGHT
RAIL) ACT 1996 No 128—PROCLAMATION

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Transport Administration Amendment (Light Rail) Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 10 March 1997 as the day on which that Act (except Schedule 1 [9], [10] and [13]) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The above proclamation commences the Act, except for the following:
| (a) | provisions relating to the payment of penalties recovered for railway and other offences (pending the making of regulations relating to those offences under the Railway Safety Act 1993), |
| (b) | provisions relating to the revesting of public roads in the Hay Street area in the Sydney City Council and the termination of an agreement with that Council relating to the use of those roads by the Ultimo/Pyrmont light rail system. |
