I, John Douglas Stott, Chief Executive of the State Transit Authority, in pursuance of section 85 (2) of the Transport Administration Act 1988, make the following Order.

Explanatory note

Blinded Soldiers Gold Passes are issued to Australian war veterans who were blinded due to war service and who permanently reside in New South Wales.

The object of this Order is to make it clear that the Pass entitles the veteran and a person accompanying the veteran as a guide to free travel on all JetCat services operated by the State Transit Authority, but not on the Authority’s special (racecourse) services.

This Order is made under the Transport Administration Act 1988, including section 85 (2).

This Order is the Transport Administration (State Transit

Authority-Fares) Amendment (Blind War Veterans) Order 1997.

2 Commencement

This Order commences on 21 April 1997.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Order.

4 Amendment of Transport Administration (State Transit Authority—Fares) Order 1991

The Transport Administration (State Transit Authority—Fares)

Order 1991 is amended by inserting after clause 10 the following

clause:

10A Conditions for use of Blinded Soldiers Gold Pass

The holder of a Blinded Soldiers Gold Pass (issued to a blind Australian war veteran) and a person accompanying the holder as a guide are entitled to free travel on the State Transit Authority’s JetCat services, but are not entitled to free travel on the State Transit Authority’s special (racecourse) services.
