TRANSPORT ADMINISTRATION ACT 1988—ORDER
(Relating to the CityHopper ticket)

I, Christopher Guy Thurston, Acting Chief Executive of the State Transit Authority, in pursuance of section 85 (2) o f the Transport Administration Act 1988, make the Order set out hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Order commences on 31 March 1996.
Amendments
2. The Transport Administration (State Transit Authority-Fares)
Order 1991 is amended:
(a)
by inserting after clause 3 the following clause: Notes
3A. The matter appearing under the heading “Note” in this
Order does not form part of this Order.
(b) by inserting after clause 8 (7) the following subclause:
(8) A CityHopper ticket is valid on its date of issue only. by omitting from clause 9 the words “tickets and DayRover tickets” and by inserting instead the words “ , DayRover and
(c)
CityHopper tickets” ; (d) by inserting in clause 13 after the definition of “child” the following definition: “CityHopper ticket” means a ticket that allows unlimited travel after 9.00 a.m. Mondays to Fridays (inclusive) and at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays:

(a) on the State Transit Authority’s bus services in the area bounded by: (i) the bus stop on the Pacific Highway, near Walker Street, North Sydney, then by the generally southbound route across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the southern approach to the Bridge;
(ii) the southern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, then along the southem part of the Sydney Harbour foreshore to the Cowper Wharf Roadway, Potts Point;
(iii) Wylde Street, Potts Point;
(iv) Macleay Street, Potts Point;
(v) Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross— Darlinghurst;
(vi) Oxford Street, Darlinghurst (between
Darlinghurst Road and Taylor Square);
(vii) Taylor Square, Darlinghurst; (viii) Flinders Street, Darlinghurst;
(ix) Anzac Parade, Moore Park;
(x) Cleveland Street, Moore Park—Redfern;
(xi) Elizabeth Street, Redfern;
(xii) Redfern Street, Redfern;
(xiii) Regent Street, Redfern—Chippendale;
(xiv) Harris Street, Ultimo—Pyrmont;(xv) the southern part of the Sydney Harbour foreshore at Pyrmont to the southern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge; and
(xvi) the southern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, then by the generally northbound route across the Bridge to the bus stop in Blue Street outside the North Sydney railway station; and
(b)
on the State Rail Authority’s rail services in the area bounded by North Sydney, Kings Cross and Redfern railway stations;
| (e) | by inserting in Schedule 1 under the heading “MULTI-TRIP |
FARES” after the matter relating to the DayRover ticket the
following matter:

ticket issued at Redfern, Kings Cross, North Sydney, Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay, St James, Museum, Martin Place or Milsons Point railway station ...................................

Note:
An additional payment to cover the charge for travel between a railway station referred to in paragraph (b) and the area in which the CityHopper ticket is valid will be required when a ticket is issued at a station referred to in paragraph (b).
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Order is to allow the State Transit Authority, in conjunction with
the State Rail Authority, to introduce a new ticket to be known as the CityHopper ticket,
to set the charges for this ticket and to define the area in which it may be used.
The area covered by the CityHopper ticket takes in the State Transit Authority’s bus services from the bus stop on the Pacific Highway (near Walker Street), North Sydney, across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the southern approach to the Bridge, and within the area bounded by the southern part of the Sydney Harbour foreshore to Potts Point, then to Kings Cross, Taylor Square, Moore Park, Redfern, Chippendale, Ultimo to Pyrmont, and the southern part of the Sydney Harbour foreshore to the southern approach to the Bridge, and services across the Bridge to the bus stop in Blue Street outside the North Sydney railway station. The CityHopper ticket can also be used on the State Rail Authority’s rail services bounded by the North Sydney, Kings Cross and Redfern railway stations.
The CityHopper ticket will be available for purchase from CityRail stations.
