TRANSPORT ADMINISTRATION ACT 1988—ORDER

(Relating to bus and ferry charges)

I, John Douglas Stott, Chief Executive of the State Transit Authority, in pursuance of section 85 (2) of the Transport Administration Act 1988, make the Order set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Order commences on 7 July 1996.

Amendment

2. The Transport Administration (State Transit Authority-Fares)

Order 1991 is amended:

(a)

by omitting from the definition of “CityHopper ticket” in clause 13 the matter “after 9.00 a.m. Mondays to Fridays (inclusive) and at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays”;

(b)

by omitting from clause 13 the definition of “inner harbour ferry service” and by inserting instead the following definition:

“Inner Harbour ferry service” means any State Transit
Authority ferry service (including JetCat service) other than:

(a) a service to or from Manly; or (b) a Newcastle-Stockton service; or

(c)

a service to or from a place on the Parramatta River west of the Meadowbank Railway Bridge (that is, the bridge carrying the main northern railway line between North Strathfield and Meadowbank);

(c)

by inserting in clause 13 in alphabetical order the following definitions:

“Inner Harbour Zone 1 service” means any State Transit
Authority ferry service (including JetCat service) other than:

(a) a service to or from Manly; or (b) a Newcastle-Stockton service; or

(c) a service to or from a place on the Parramatta River west of the Ryde Bridge (that is, the bridge crossing the Parramatta River between Concord Road, Concord and Church Street, Ryde);

“Inner Harbour Zone 2 service” means any State Transit Authority ferry service (including JetCat service) to or from a place on the Parramatta River between the Ryde Bridge and the Meadowbank Railway Bridge;

“Off-Peak ticket” means a ticket that allows travel after 9.00 am Mondays to Fridays (inclusive) and at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays;

(d)

by omitting from clause 13 the definitions of “Manly family ticket” and “Parramatta family ticket”;

(e)

by omitting Schedule 1 and by inserting instead the following Schedule:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Order is to amend the Transport Administration (State Transit

Authority—Fares) Order 1991:

(a)

to increase certain fares for bus and ferry services (including those services that are provided in conjunction with the rail services provided by the State Rail Authority); and

(b) to provide for Inner Harbour ferry fares based on different zones; and

(c)

to insert a definition of “Off-peak ticket” and provide for the issue of Off-peak CityHopper and Off-peak DayRover tickets; and

(d) to omit the provisions relating to the Manly and Parramatta family tickets.
