Transplantation and Anatomy Amendment Act 2000

An Act to amend the Transplantation and Anatomy Act 1978

[Notified in ACT Gazette No. 39: 28 September 2000]

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Name of Act

   This Act is the Transplantation and Anatomy Amendment Act 2000.

2. Commencement

   This Act commences on the day it is notified in the Gazette.

3. Act amended

   This Act amends the Transplantation and Anatomy Act 1978.

4. Consents by adults to removal of blood

   Section 20 is amended—

(a)by omitting the heading and substituting the following heading:

“20     Consents by persons 16 years old or older to removal of blood”; and

(b)by inserting “under 16 years old” after “child”.

1. Consents to removal of blood from children

   Section 21 is amended—

(a)by omitting the heading and substituting the following heading:

“21     Consents to removal of blood from children under 16 years old”; and

(b)by inserting “under 16 years old” after “a child”.
