AN ACT to amend the Transfer of Land Act,
1893-1954.
[Assented to 25th September, 1959.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

2. Section one hundred and eighty-eight of the =Bided.
principal Act is amended by adding a paragraph as
follows
(iv) He may, notwithstanding any other pro- :11`,1ieggs.
vision of this Act with the approval of the Minister, destroy any record, document, instrument, plan, diagram, book or paper or any other paper writing whether of the same kind as those before enumerated or not, that is deposited with or registered at the Office of Titles the retention of which, in the opinion of the Commissioner of Titles and the Registrar, serves no useful purpose.

principal Act is amended
| (a) | by adding after the section number, "239" the figure, "1" in brackets thus—(1); |
| (b) | by adding after the word, "copy" in line ten, the passage, ", a photographic copy or photostatic copy"; |
| (c) | by adding after the word, "copy" in line thirteen, the passage, ", photographic copy or photostatic copy"; and |
| (d) | by adding a subsection as follows |
(2) (a) Where a person requires to inspect the Register Book as provided in subsection (1) of this section, if the Register Book is not readily available, the Registrar may produce to that person instead of the Register Book a print, whether enlarged or not, made from a photographic film taken by an officer of the Office of Titles of that part of the Register Book which the person requires to inspect.
(b) In this section the expression, "photographic film" includes any photo- graphic plate, micro photographic film or photostatic negative.
