the said Colony lor any term ol transportation unexpired whether sucli c-onvict or convicts shall he in the immediate service of Government or in that of any private individual or individuals any article or articles of slop clotlrtng or wearing apjiarel or hedding or any article of ])rovision Avliatever ivithout a sjiecial jiermission in writing from the master or mistress of sucli convict or (mnvicts for sucli purpose such person or persons shall he deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon con viction thereof before one or more Justice or -l ustices of tlie Peace on Liable to a penalty

2. And he it further enacted That no conviction shall he had under this Act in any case hapjiening three months before the time of laying the charge.
3. And he it further enacted That all fines penalties and Penalties imw to be
forfeitures imposed by this Act shall he recovered before any one or more Justices of the Peace in a summary manner and shall if not paid Avithin six days after conviction be levied by distress and sale of the ofitmder’s goods and chattels and the money ai'ising by all such fines penalties and forfeitures respectively Avhen recovered shall Ijc as to one moiety thereof to and for the use of our Sovereign Lord the King llis Heirs and Successors and he carried to and form part of the Colonial Eund of the said Colony and he applied to the public uses in support of tin; Government thereof and as to the other moiety of such fines penalties and forfeitures to and for the use of such person or persons as shall inform or sue for the same.
