Traffic (Vehicle Loads and Dimensions) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2000

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .7 August 2000

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Vehicle Loads and Dimensions) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2000 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 commences. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Traffic (Vehicle Loads and Dimensions) Regulations 1975 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 2 amended (Interpretation)Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from subregulation (1) the definition of "axle"; (b) by inserting after the definition of "general permit" in subregulation (1) the following definition: GTM (gross trailer mass) means the maximum loaded mass of a trailer – (a) as specified by the trailer’s manufacturer; or (b) as specified by the Registrar if – (i) the manufacturer has not specified a maximum loaded mass; or (ii) the manufacturer cannot be identified; or (iii) the trailer has been modified to the extent that the manufacturer’s specification is no longer appropriate; 5Regulations 18 and 19 rescindedRegulations 18 and 19 of the Principal Regulations are rescinded. 6Schedule 3 amendedSchedule 3 to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from column 4 of Part II "a Passenger Vehicle Certificate that is endorsed to indicate that he or she has been approved by the Registrar as a hazardous conditions driver" and substituting "a public passenger vehicle ancillary certificate endorsed to indicate that he or she has been approved by the Registrar as a hazardous conditions driver".
