Traffic (Repeal of Regulations Postponement) Act 1998

An Act to postpone the repeal of the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Traffic (Repeal of Regulations Postponement) Act 1998 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Postponement of repeal of Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956The repeal of the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956 that, but for this section, was to have been effected on 1 January 1999 by virtue of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 and the Traffic (Repeal of Regulations Postponement) Act 1997 is postponed until 1 July 2000. 4Expiry of ActThis Act expires on 2 July 2000. 5Administration of ActUntil provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 – (a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Infrastructure, Energy and Resources; and (b) the Department responsible to the Minister for Infrastructure, Energy and Resources in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources.
